John-John
So, it's John Kerry and John Edwards. Says Matthew Yglesias: "As I see it, this is good for three reasons. One, it makes it more likely that starting in 2005, George W. Bush will no longer be in office. Two, VP nominees have a way of becoming presidential candidates down the road, and Edwards would be a better president than Dick Gephardt..." So how should the GOP react? Clearly it's time for Dick Cheney to get ill and drop off the ticket. A counter splash will be needed to take some spring out of the Dems VP bounce. Bush-McCain anyone? With McCain set up to take on Hillary in 2008?

I think Matthew Yglesias is delusional. Here's what Kerry has done in picking Edwards:
1. He's picked a man who has spent two years of his first term in the Senate running for President.
2. The Democratic ticket has no executive experience. They have run nothing.
3. He's picked a running mate whose sole international experience has been a visit to the International House of Pancakes.
4. Of course, if Hillary ever wants to be President, these guys have to lose, or else she'll be a wrinkled old hag by the time Kerry-Edwards leave office and wrinkled old hags do not play well in Peoria.
