A European intelligence officer told me…

A Western diplomat has told Rainy Day that a "star" US "journalist" is about to unviel a piece of writing that will, well, reveal all. According to a high-level source, the devastating story will be based on the following unimpeachable, named sources:

Israeli military and intelligence experts I spoke to... According to a Middle East expert with knowledge of the current thinking of both the Israeli and the U.S. governments... The Middle East expert said ... Administration officials... a National Security Council spokesman said ... A Pentagon spokesman ... according to a former senior intelligence official ... high-level planners from the U.S. Air Force ... the former senior intelligence official ... a U.S. government consultant with close ties to Israel ... A Pentagon consultant ... Several current and former officials involved in the Middle East told me that ... The Pentagon consultant noted that... an Israeli official said ... The U.S. government consultant with close ties to Israel told me ... according to current and former officials ... I was told by the Middle East expert... and the government consultant said ... the former senior intelligence official ... A European intelligence officer told me ... A high-level American military planner told me ... A Western diplomat said that ...

Guess who said this: "The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different result."?

Comments

Would his name be Hersh?

You know, when I loaded this page there were no comments. I wrote one ("Is it Seymour Hersh? What do I win?") only to find that The New Yorker had got in ahead of me. Well, they don't call it a New York minute for nothing, I suppose.

By the way, Hersh is not the one who said the thing about insanity. In fact, Hersh is repeatedly doing something, hoping he'll get the same result as the first time: a Pullet Surprise.

Well...I certainly can't refute the evidence provided by such definitive sources

UNVIEL?

A Western diplomat has told Rainy Day that a "star" US "journalist" is about to unviel a piece of writing that will, well, reveal all. According to a high-level source, the devastating story will be based on the following unimpeachable, named sources:

Yes. UNVIEL stands for UN Verification and Inspection, East London, a surveillance-only force that reveals all, but only in the wake of harder evidence suggesting where to go looking for the next-of-kin of the late suspects.
