France. It's a boy!

Talking of conspiracy theories, did Royal lose because she was cheating? Best (English language) blog of the campaign? A toss up between that of Charles Bremner, Paris Correspondent for The Times and Newsweek's Le Blog Présidentiel. A battle between style and substance, 'twas. A bit like the campaign, really. Our vote goes to Bremner.

I thought Bremner was strongly pro-Sarko from a very early stage and I felt this, for reasons either of my own political persuasion or thoughts on objective reporting, got in the way of the story, sometimes.

I always read his blog, though, checked it agaisnt others and found that he really couldn't stand Sego.

I haven't read the other blog you mention, but I thought the best coverage was by John Lichfield in the Independent. Balanced, insightful, challenging stuff.

Very interesting campaign all round.
