The play's the thing

Going to the theatre on Sunday, and this has prompted memories of a good Tom Stoppard quip. After the successful premiere of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead in 1966, he was asked what the play was about: "It's about to make me a lot of money," he replied candidly. Last Sunday night, Stoppard's trilogy Coast of Utopia set a new record at the Tony Awards picking up seven gongs. It's about to make Tom a lot more money.
