Beautiful and beastly

Two magazine websites, one beautiful, Backpacker; one beastly, Geek Monthly. One is superbly navigable, one is miserably so. One makes excellent use of Web 2.0 features, one doesn't. And so on and on. Time for the geeks to read what Jakob is writing.
