DLD '09
Missing out on the Digital, Life, Design conference for the first time in four years. The programme is, as always, as varied as our world and there are some standout sessions that one is reluctant to forego. For example, today: "New Media Models" with Jeff Jarvis (Buzzmachine), Carolyn McCall (The Guardian), Michael Arrington (TechCrunch) and Tyler Brulé (Monocle). And tomorrow, just right for our times: "Reflection on a Crisis" with Nassim Taleb (The Black Swan) and Daniel Kahneman (Princeton University).
"Cloud computing" is big this year and it will be interesting to see what Marissa Mayer (Google), Werner Vogels (Amazon), Russ Daniels (HP) and Spencer Reiss (Wired) have to say about it. In a second session, Daniel Ek (Spotify), Tal Muskal (Semantinet) and Jodok Batlogg (Lovely Systems) will add their tuppence worth to the cloud.
With its gathering of entrepreneurs, artists, investors, academics, musicians and idealists, DLD is an inspiring and innovative event. Long may it prosper.
