Farewell, Michael Jackson

He was the most popular solo performer of our time. Of all time, perhaps. Tragically, controversy engulfed his phenomenal talent. Who Is It only got to No. 14 on the pop charts in 1993, but an almost forgotten video directed by the pre-Fight Club David Fincher is among the finest things Michael Jackson ever did. His style was a mix of unique artistry, cinematic mystery and despair. It's all here.

"I am the damned / I am the dead / I am the agony inside the dying head / This is injustice / Woe unto thee / I pray this punishment would have mercy on me." May he rest in peace.
