Gay vs. Bolt
Tonight at 9.35 pm in Berlin, the men's 100 metres final pitting Usain Bolt against Tyson Gay. So who'll win? Well, Gay is in the form of his life, while Bolt has been living it up. He crashed his BMW in April and although he emerged unscathed, he stepped on thorns as he walked away from the accident and had to be hospitalized.
Bolt's gold medals and world records in Beijing last year were an outstanding athletic achievement, but what people seem to have forgotten is that it is Gay, not Bolt, who is the defending world champion in the 100 and the 200 metres. Injury kept Gay from making a serious Olympic challenge last year, but he has the world's fastest times in both sprints this year. And another thing: Gay will be wearing "JO" on his tracksuit tonight as a tribute to Jesse Owens, who won four Olympics gold medals in 1936 in Berlin. The Berlin Games were meant to signify the superiority of the Aryan race, but Jesse Owens put an end to that nonsense. Advantage Gay.
