What’s a city? And do you live in one?

It is said that by 2030, two out of every three people worldwide will live in cities. This is the Urban Century, in other words. The excellent NPR Cities Project looks at the complexity of urban life today and strives to decode the meaning of “urbanism”. To this end, the infographic “Do You Live In A City?” leads us through a series of questions that may or may not exactly determine if we live in the thing called a city. The built-in ambiguity forces us to confront the reality that the “city” is evolving all the time and the race is on to pick seven of the best.
