The Low Anthem play Carnegie Hall for Paddy (Moloney’s) Night

Saturday, 17 March, 2012

The Low Anthem opened for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at the Moody Theatre in Austin, Texas, on Thursday night. For the show’s finale, they joined the Boss, Jimmy Cliff, Eric Burdon, Tom Morello, Joe Ely and Alejandro Escovedo in singing Woody Guthrie’s This Land is Your Land. To celebrate St Patrick’s Day, The Low Anthem will join Paddy Moloney on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York tonight as part of the Chieftains’ 50th anniversary tour.

All in in all, it will have been an incredible 48 hours for Ben Knox Miller, Jeff Prystowsky, Jocie Adams and Tyler Osborn. But when one listens to the music that the Providence, Rhode Island, band creates, they deserve every ounce of the recognition that’s now coming their way. Cage the Songbird: “And this island shall be shackled to her waters / Here we vow never to change / Here we will stand at last for something / With no desire to pretend.”
