Godard as the spiritual father of Palestinian terror in Munich

Monday, 23 July, 2012

In this clip from 1969, the French film director Jean-Luc Godard orders a cheque to be made out to his account by ZDF, the German public broadcaster, to buy weapons for use against Israel. And it is duly done. He brandishes a six-pointed Swastika as the German narrator declares that Godard believes “America has become a stronghold of evil.”

Three years after this interview took place, the Palestinian terror group Black September murdered 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team during the 1972 Games in Munich. Given that the 40th anniversary of this barbaric act is now approaching, one might think that the Olympics in London would provide a platform for a gesture such as a moment of silence to remember the slain. No way, says the IOC.

Note: Jean-Luc Godard is considered to be an intellectual hero in Europe.
